Appears in the web app as Activity Report.
Available on: Standard plans and above
Who can use it: Admins
Where to find it: Reporting › Productivity › Activity Report
The Activity Report shows, second by second, what each member worked on during the day: every app, website and document they used, when they started and stopped, and whether that time counts as productive. Use it when you need the detail behind a member's productive, idle or away time.
What problem does this report solve?
A day's totals tell you how much time a member spent working, but not where that time went. This report lists every stretch of activity as its own row, with the app or website, the window title, the start and end time, the exact duration and its Productivity Type, so you can trace any total back to the activity behind it.
Use it to:
- See exactly which apps, websites and files a member used, and for how long
- Find where productive, unproductive, idle and away time came from in a member's day
- Check a member's timeline when a daily total looks too high or too low

What each column means
Each row is one continuous stretch of activity in one window. A row ends whenever the member switches to another app, tab or window, or the window title changes.
Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
Member Name | The member's name. The heading uses your workspace's term for members, so your file may say Employee Name, Associates or similar. |
The member's email address | |
Member Id | The member's email address. |
Reports To | The member's manager. |
Session Date | The date the activity took place, in the Date Format you chose. |
Category | The category of the app or website, such as Communication or Design. Idle rows show Idle; Away rows show the reason, such as Offline Meet. |
App Title | The title of the window or browser tab. |
Activity Text | The website address for browser activity, or the program or file path for desktop apps. |
Process Name | The program that was running, such as chrome.exe or Figma.exe. |
Activity Type | Active, Idle or Away. |
Start Time | The date and time the activity started, to the second. |
End Time | The date and time the activity ended, to the second. |
Total Hours (HH:MM:SS:MS) | How long the activity lasted, as hours:minutes:seconds, with milliseconds after the dot (for example, 00:15:00.602). |
Productivity Type | Productive, Unproductive or Neutral, based on the app or website. |
How the numbers are calculated
TOTAL HOURS
End Time − Start Time
Flowace measures each activity to the millisecond. Start Time and End Time are shown to the whole second, so subtracting them by hand can differ from Total Hours by up to one second.
TIME BY PRODUCTIVITY TYPE (WHEN YOU TOTAL A DAY)
Σ Total Hours of the rows with that Productivity Type
The report lists individual activities and does not add them up. To total a member's day, add up Total Hours for each Productivity Type. Idle rows show - and stay separate from Productive, Unproductive and Neutral time.
Worked example
Priya Sharma (reports to Karan Malhotra) starts work on 21-09-2026. Her first five rows look like this:
Start Time | End Time | App Title | Productivity Type | Total Hours |
|---|---|---|---|---|
09:31:12 | 09:31:13 | LoggerStart | Neutral | 00:00:01.214 |
09:31:13 | 09:37:26 | Mail - Priya Sharma - Outlook - Google Chrome Productive | Productive | 00:06:12.448 |
09:37:26 | 09:39:01 | design-reviews (Channel) - Slack | Productive | 00:01:35.310 |
09:39:01 | 09:54:01 | Meet - Loyalty App MVP Daily Stand-up - Google Chrome | Productive | 00:15:00.602 |
09:54:01 | 10:36:00 | Loyalty App MVP - Checkout Flow - Figma | Productive | 00:41:58.736 |
Total | 01:04:48.310 |
Productive time = 00:06:12.448 + 00:01:35.310 + 00:15:00.602 + 00:41:58.736 = 01:04:47.096. Adding the 00:00:01.214 of Neutral time gives 01:04:48.310, which matches the clock from 09:31:12 to 10:36:00 to within a second.
The Figma row shows the rounding at work: 09:54:01 to 10:36:00 is 41 minutes 59 seconds on the clock, and Total Hours is 00:41:58.736 because the start and end fall part-way through a second.
In the report, that Figma activity appears as one row:
Member Name | Session Date | Category | App Title | Activity Type | Start Time | End Time | Total Hours |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Priya Sharma | 21-09-2026 | Design | Loyalty App MVP - Checkout Flow - Figma | Active | 21-09-2026 09:54:01 | 21-09-2026 10:36:00 | 00:41:58.736 |
Summing up all 78 of Priya's rows for 21-09-2026 by Productivity Type gives her full day:
Productivity Type | Total Hours | Decimal hours |
|---|---|---|
Productive | 07:53:22.575 | 7.89 |
Neutral | 00:49:04.923 | 0.82 |
Unproductive | 00:00:43.255 | 0.01 |
(Idle) | 00:33:16.759 | 0.55 |
Total | 09:16:27.512 | 9.27 |
The total matches her day on the clock: from 09:31:12 to 18:47:39.

FAQs
- Why does the same app appear on many rows?
A row ends whenever the member switches app, tab or window, or the window title changes (for example, when a Slack channel shows an unread message). Add up Total Hours by App Title to see the full time spent in one app.
- Why is Productivity Type - on some rows?
Those are Idle rows. Idle time has no Productivity Type, so it stays out of Productive, Unproductive and Neutral totals.
- Can I see work done outside a member's shift?
Yes. Choose Full Day under Shift Scope to include all hours worked, within and outside the shift window.
- Why doesn't a member appear on some dates?
With Exclude Time Off Days, leave days, holidays and weekly offs are left out. Choose Include Time Off Days to see every day in the period.
