Early Logout Alert
Alert type: Attendance
Schedule: Daily/Weekly Notification
Available on: Basic and above
Who can set it up: Workspace Admin
Where to find it: Admin Settings › Alerts
The Early Logout alert tells which members finished work before an agreed time. It shows where a conversation about hours, cover or workload may help.
When to use this alert
A member who finishes well before the end of the working day may have approved half day leave or a personal commitment, or the hours and the workload may not match. An end time is final only after a member stop working, so this alert is sent after the team's expected finish and the list reflects who really left early.
Use it to:
- Spot early finishes on the evening they happen.
- Apply one end-of-day cut-off consistently across a team.
- Give managers and HR the same list without anyone compiling it by hand.

How the rule is evaluated
End Time is the time a member's day ends. Because the condition is less than equals, an end at exactly 05:30 PM also triggers the alert. In plain English: the alert lists every member of Design Team whose day ended at 05:30 PM or earlier.
Set the value to the team's end time minus the margin you want to allow. For a 06:30 PM finish and a one-hour margin, use 05:30 PM.
Send the alert after the team's expected finish. An End Time is final only once a member has stopped working. If the alert ran while the team was still at work, a member active at 05:25 PM could show an End Time at or before 05:30 PM and be listed by mistake. Sending at 07:30 pm, half an hour after the expected finish, avoids this.
Worked example
Rule: End Time is less than equals 05:30 PM.
Member | End Time | Triggers? |
|---|---|---|
Harsh Vora | 05:05 PM | Yes |
Farah Khan | 05:30 PM | Yes (equals the value) |
Tanvi Joshi | 05:48 PM | No |
Divya Menon | 06:32 PM | No |
Nikhil Bansal | 07:15 PM | No |

Choosing recipients and timing
Field | Recommendation | Why |
|---|---|---|
Who gets notified | Individual, Reporting Manager, All Admin, Custom | The member is aware, the manager can follow up, and HR sees the pattern. Add All Admin if your Admins review attendance for every team. |
When to send | Same day, 07:30 pm | Half an hour after the team's expected finish, so End Times are final. |
Apply alert on | Monday to Friday | The team's working week. |
Reading the results: common scenarios
What you see | What it may mean | What to do |
|---|---|---|
One member listed once | Approved early leave, an appointment or a personal commitment | Usually no action; note the pattern. |
The same member on several days | A changed routine or a workload that does not fit the day | Check in about hours and workload. |
Several members on one day | A shared cause such as a transport disruption or an early office closure | Check the cause before addressing individuals. |
A member whose tracker stopped early | The End Time reflects the last tracked time | Check that the tracker is running |
Good to know
- Choose the day carefully. If every day of the week is selected, the alert also runs on weekends and holidays for everyone who was not working.
- Values are per team or role. Different teams work different hours; set a separate alert for each.
- Alerts follow your workspace settings. Working days, shifts or the time zone configured for your workspace decide when an alert runs.
- Run it after the expected finish. Choose an execution time later than the end of the working day, so no one still at work is listed.
- Approved early-sign-off is not a pattern. Look at several days before drawing conclusions.
