Leave Management FAQ

1. If a user is included in two leave policies — one by individual assignment and another through a team — which policy will apply?

Ans: The latest policy will be applicable. However, the leave types from the old policy will still be visible to the user.


2. Can I update the leave type's effective date in an existing policy?

Ans: Yes, but the change will only apply from the next accrual cycle. The current accrual data will not be affected.


3. If a user is part of two policies -one by individual assignment and another through a team with the same leave type but different accrual methods, what will happen?

Ans: The old policy’s leave type will remain visible until the next accrual. From the next accrual cycle, the new policy's leave type will be applied.


4. Who can approve and delete leave requests?

Ans:

  • Without a workflow: The admin will approve and can delete the approved leave.
  • With a workflow: The last approver will approve the leave, and both the last approver and admin can delete the leave.


5. Who can delete auto-approved leaves?

Ans:

  • Past and current date auto-approved leaves can be deleted only by the admin.
  • Users can delete their own future-dated auto-approved leaves.
  • If an admin's leave is auto-approved, the admin can delete their own leave.


6. How will the system handle a leave request if the employee’s previous policy allowed negative balance, but they are now assigned to a new policy?

Ans: When a user is moved to a new policy, the settings from the old policy—such as the negative balance allowance—are no longer applicable. Therefore, if the user attempts to apply for leave

exceeding their current balance, the system will prevent it and display a "leave count limit exceeded" error.


7. If a user is assigned to a new policy but still has leave balance in the old policy, can the old leave be carried forward?

Ans: No, since the old policy is not applicable anymore, leave from the old policy cannot be carried forward.
