How to Generate and Use API Keys in Flowace

Introduction

Flowace provides a secure API Key Generator that allows organizations to connect third-party applications and automate workflows using Flowace data.

An API key acts as a digital access token that authenticates external systems with your Flowace account — enabling seamless integration while keeping your data secure.

Accessing the API Configuration Settings

• Log in as an Admin user in Flowace.
• From the left sidebar, go to Company Settings → Configuration.
• Scroll down to the API Key Generator section.
• You’ll see the following options:
• Generate API Key button
• Visibility toggle (to view or hide the key)
• Click Copy icon (to copy the key securely)

💡 Tip: Only users with Admin permissions can view or generate API keys.

How to Generate a New API Key

Follow these steps to create a new API key for integration:

• Navigate to Settings → Configuration → API Key Generator
• Click the Generate API Key button
• The system will automatically create a secure alphanumeric key
• Use the copy icon to save the key for later use
• Store the key securely — treat it like a password

️ ⚠️ Important: Once generated, do not share your API key publicly.

Using Your API Key for Integrations

You can use the Flowace API key to connect external systems like HR, project management, or reporting tools.

Each request sent to Flowace’s API must include the key in its authorization header.

• Syncing project or timesheet data with external dashboards
• Automating task creation via third-party software
• Fetching employee productivity metrics
