Timesheet Locking

Timesheet Locking

To ensure accurate time tracking and maintain the integrity of logged work, allows you to configure timesheet locking. This feature helps prevent unauthorized or accidental changes to past time entries, ensuring that records remain consistent for reporting and billing purposes.

How It Works?

In the settings, administrators can define the number of past days for which changes are allowed.

For example, if the locking value is set to 7 users will only be able to:

  • Add new timesheet entries
  • Edit existing entries
  • Delete past entries

The count is based on the current date minus 7 calendar days.

Any entries older than that range will become locked and can no longer be modified by users,

unless permissions or settings are changed by an admin.

How to Set Timesheet Locking?

  • Go to Admin Settings
  • Click on Settings >> Configuration
  • Turn on the toggle “Lock Activity Logs Older Than”
  • Enter the number of past days you want to allow changes for (e.g., 7, 14, 30)
  • Click on Save Button

Once set, any entries older than the defined number of days will be locked automatically.

Benefits

  • Prevents accidental or intentional manipulation of past work hours
  • Maintains consistency for billing and reporting
